Hannah M. Washington

October 24, 1934 - December 14, 2021

     Hannah Mary Washington, 87, affectionately known as “Dolly" was called to heaven on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Washington. Hannah was born in Muddy Creek Forks, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Mary (Harris) Johnson. Hannah graduated from William Penn Senior High School and attended Thompson Business College. She was a Key Punch Operator for several years before she worked and retired from BAE Systems of York. Hannah was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

     Hannah enjoyed watching her favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles on TV and at their home games at Lincoln Financial Field. She also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, going on cruises, and baking pies and cakes. But most of all she enjoyed being with her family. Hannah was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a Girl Scout Leader, and was actively involved in her children’s PTA. Hannah's presence and captivating smile will be missed by her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched.

     Hannah leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Carmen Frost and husband Robert and Wanda Kennard; a son Keith Washington, and a companion Brian Parker all of York. Seven grandchildren, Shaleeta Washington, Justin Frost, Kevin Washington Jr., Jordan Frost, Richard Walker, Ta-Vaun Kennard, and Keeshon Washington; 3 great grandchildren and a special nephew Leroy Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Leroy Johnson, a sister Helen McColley, and sons James Washington and Kevin Washington Sr.

     Funeral Services will be private. Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. Gladfelter Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
