James T. Smith, Smitty, ended his watch on August 14th, 2021.  He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda, son Patrick, and brother Kenneth.  He was born in Staten Island, NY in 1951 to Edward and Lena (Weinreb) Smith.

     Jim devoted his life to public service.  He served as Military Police in the Army .  Then, as a Patrolman of the Union City Police Dept. in NJ.  After retiring as Deputy Chief, he continued to serve the public as a security supervisor at the Meadowlands Sports Complex for many years.  Later moving to Hallam, PA for a quiet retirement where he continued down his chosen path guarding the PNC bank in Lancaster.

      Jim loved family, sports, history, a good chat, and wrestling.  He was an avid fan of the New York Giants, whom he proudly guarded on the field.  He will be missed by the many souls he touched in the course of his public service devotion.
