Edwin J. Wintermyers, Sr., also known as “Eddie Ham” and “Country”, age 57, entered into eternal rest on February 7, 2023. Born on July 19, 1965, in York, PA, he was the son of Edwin J. Saulisbury and the late Shirley A. Wintermyers.
Eddie was formally employed at York casket. He was a graduate of Wm Penn Sr. High School class 1984; where he played varsity football and wore the #50. Eddie loved spending time with family and friends. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and was also known for his infectious smile. He loved to cook; you couldn’t tell him he wasn’t the best cook around.
Edwin leaves to cherish his memory, son, Edwin J. Wintermyers, Jr. (York); daughter, Shirley A. Wintermyers (Philadelphia); siblings Rhonda Wintermyers, Anthony Wintermyers - wife Mary, and Darryl Wintermyers - wife, Kimber (all of York); aunt, Raejeanne “Roma” DeShields - husband Joe (York); uncles, Dale Hughes - wife, Betty, Randolph Saulisbury, Charles Saulisbury, Harold Saulisbury, Fred Saulisbury and Tony Saulisbury; Aunts, Dorothy “Dottie Mae” Saulisbury & Henrietta ”Sissy” Saulisbury (all of York), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Randolph and Henrietta Saulisbury; maternal grandparents, Albert and Gladys Wintermyers; aunt, Dorothea “Hot Dot” Saulisbury; brother, David Saulisbury; and 2 best friends, Trev and Charlie Jackson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 1pm at Jabez Ministries - 40 Jefferson Ave., York, with Pastor Adrian Boxley officiating. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
