Holding a Flower

Anna J. (Missinger) Kemper, 87, of Dover, entered into rest on March 17, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late George A. Kemper.
Born on March 11, 1935 in York to the late George Missinger and the late C. Helen (McCoy) Hibner.
Throughout her life, Anna enjoyed oil painting, sewing, cooking, bargain shopping and playing slot machines. Her oil paintings still adorn nearly every room in her house. She had a knack for storytelling. She spent much of her time reading books, keeping up with current events and worrying about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. For decades, she and her husband George played cards with best friends Gary and Sue Ferguson every Friday night until George’s passing. Though Anna was known for speaking her mind, sometimes rather harshly, what she will be remembered most for is her generosity in ensuring those she cared about were cared for.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory, son, Jeffrey and Lori Kemper; daughter, Susan Kemper and partner Christian Lutz; grandchildren, Jessica and Philip See, Abigale and Brent Koontz, Sarah Kemper, Claudia Lutz, and Hayden Lutz; great-grandchildren, Vash Koontz and Adalia Koontz; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael A. Kemper and siblings, William Edward Missinger, Robert Missinger and Shirley Ruppert.
A Graveside Service will be held on March 25, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Suburban Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to bus ministry at Bible Baptist Church 4190 Susquehanna Trail North York, PA 17404. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangments.
