Betty Lorraine Paige, 74, of York, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
She was born on October 7, 1949, in Orange, Virginia to Lottie Mae Lewis and Irving Paige. She relocated to York, PA in 1968.
Betty was educated in the Orange County Public Schools. She was employed by Turbon USA for 18 years and eventually retired from York Hospital (WellSpan) after 20 years of service.
Although Betty parented with an iron fist and a sharp tongue, she loved her sons and her grandchildren immensely. That love was also extended to her many nieces and nephews, and she spent a lot of time nurturing, guiding, and lending an ear when needed. Many family members can attest to that. She loved her siblings and enjoyed spending time and bantering with them.
Although a bit on the stubborn side, Betty was a very proud, strong, and meticulous lady who valued her privacy. She was best when happily engaged in her favorite hobbies or making her famous curry chicken. Whether it was Bingo, fishing, playing cards, Pokeno board game, or gambling at the Dover Downs Casino in Delaware, her skill level was unmatched.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Lottie and Irving; siblings Polly Lewis, John Henry Lewis, Walter Lewis, Gracie Moore, Albert Spotswood, Michael Paige, Sr. (her twin), Marcellus Lewis; honorary sister Kathy Miller; granddaughter Amiya Paige; and daughter-in-law Melba Paige.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory, sons Lloyd Paige, Kelvin Paige (Lillian), and Duane Paige (both of York, PA); siblings Jackie Rawlings (York, PA), Sylvia Lewis (Harrisburg, PA), Virginia Bright (York, PA), William “Tenny” Lewis (Harrisburg, PA), and Alvin Lewis (York, PA); grandchildren Kelvin Peaco, Nyara Paige, Legend Paige, Kyla Paige, Camille Paige, Yahmi Brown, and Brooklyn Paige; great-grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
