Sellman Phillip Easton, 89, entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2022. He was born on March 25, 1933 to the late Charles and Martha (Brice) Easton in Lothian, Maryland. He was the youngest of nine siblings. Sellman, who commonly went by his middle name, Phill, received his education in the Anne Arundel Public School system. He resided in Washington, DC and was ordained to the office of an Elder by the late Purvis Isaac, and later moved to York, PA. He retired from York International formerly known as Borg Warner, in York, PA.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Rosa Nell (Ford Dowling) Easton. He and Mother Easton celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on, May 25, 2022.
Bishop Easton is survived by three children (Nettie); daughters, Elaine Green, and Elsie Easton of MD, and son Reginald Easton (Stephanie) of York, PA. Grandchildren, Eric (Rosemary) and Gordon (Misha) Green, and Cherelle Dixon. Great Grandchildren, Ivory Smith (Antoine), Lyric and Melody Green, and one great-great-grandson Ryan Smith.
He is also survived by six stepchildren (Rosa) and a host of step-grandchildren, step great-great-grandchildren, step great-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Bishop Easton was preceded in death by his brothers: Franklin, Joseph, John, and Charles, Jr., and sisters, Mary Frances, Charity, Linga, and Gloria. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, the late Mary Campbell.
Funeral Services will be held on June 3, 2022, at Bethel Commandment Church, 1000 S. Queen St., York, PA 17403. The viewing is from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Intermittent will be at Mt. Rose Cemetery in York, PA. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
