Dorell Goodwin, 78, passed away February 14, 2026. Born in Dorchester County, SC on January 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Elmore) Perry, Sr.
Dorell loved fishing and sewing. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, books and watching old Western movies. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She will be deeply missed.
Dorell leaves to cherish her memory, son, Craig Perry and wife Shurella; grandchildren, Ronald Payton, Saivon Lanier, Dejour Perry, Makasia Perry, Makai Perry, Ziondre Lanier, Danielle Gardner and Karinne Perry; great grandchildren, Tristain Kinnard, Kingsley Lanier, Saveah Eaton, Saint Lanier and Messiah Pulley; brothers, George Perry and wife Carmella and Nathanial Perry; sister, Emily Waring; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. She was preceded in death by brother in law, Alfred Waring.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Jesse Lanier, Sloan Johnson, Lily Hernandez and Lonette Elmore and her grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. It will be at the Bethel Commandment Church, 1000 S Queen St, York, PA 17403. Reverend Christopher Woodard will be presiding over the service. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Mt. Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt Rose Ave, York, PA 17403.
