Ernest Dickerson, Sr., 80, entered into Heaven on July 12, 2022 at UPMC Hospital. He was the widower of Glennie Mae (Washington) Dickerson after 56 years of marriage. Born on April 13, 1942 in Bamberg, SC, the son of the late Emma Ray and Noble Dickerson.
Ernest leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Kathy Rittenhouse (Philip) and Rhoda Dickerson; four grandchildren, Jomar, Ebony, Omar and Hakeem; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; sisters, Earline Walker, Ella Bryant, Etta Dickerson and Emma Wright; brothers, Glenn and Willie DIckerson of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted cousins and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glennie Mae (Washington) Dickerson; and his two sons, Ernest Dickerson, Jr. and Charles Banks.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St, York. Pastor Adrian Boxley will be officiating. A viewing will be held prior from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Lebanon Cemetery at a later date. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arranegements.
