Gerald Kingston Vaughn “Jerry” age 79 passed away Sunday March 12, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Jerry was born on June 3, 1943, in York, to late B. Virginia (Hart) Myers and late Edward R. Vaughn Sr. Jerry married Ellen Delaughter on November 24, 1965 and raised 3 children. He retired from Adhesive Research after 20 plus years at age 62. He loved camping, hunting, working on cars and spending time with his family and friends. He was full of life, loved to dance. His smile, laughter, sense of humor and love will be truly missed.
Jerry is survived by his children; Kathy Toomey husband Kevin, Laura Slenker husband Francis, Gerald Vaughn wife Missy. Grandchildren; Kevin Vaughn wife Hazel, Shannon Trish wife Nicolle, Michael Slenker wife Cassandra, Crystal Slenker, Marissa Vaughn, Katelyn Heflin husband Lowell, Jessica Bosserman, Travis Bosserman and Brianna Hoover. Great grandchildren; Elyssa Bollinger husband Austin, Michael Slenker, Christopher Lee, Cynia Lee, Malaya Slenker, Chance Lee, Meadow Slenker, Assad Johnson Dominic States, Makalaya Bosserman, Liam Bosserman and Zachariah Hoover. Great, Great grandchild; Charlie Rose Bollinger. Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Hoover, parents, sisters Sandra Mitchell and Vicki Goodman and brothers Dennis and Edward Vaughn.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held for family and close friends at Gladfelter Funeral Home, 822 E Market St York Pa 17403 at 4:00 pm on Thursday March 23. 2023 There will also be a Celebration of Life being held this Summer of 2023, details to be shared later for all to come. The family would also like to express thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice and Community Care of York.
