Grace B. Oxendine, 95, passed away peacefully August 1, 2026. Born March 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Ruby Oxendine.
Grace found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking for family and friends, rarely missing an opportunity to gather everyone around the table. A devoted baseball fan, she enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams and keeping up with the game. She also had a keen interest in politics and never shied away from a thoughtful conversation. Above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives brought her endless pride, laughter, and love.
Grace leaves many behind to cherish her memory including, her grandchildren, Christopher Alexander Santiago, Richard Anthony Santiago, Michael Andrew Santiago, Robert Aaron Santiago; great-grandchildren, Hudson Diego Santiago, Francisco Lee Santiago; many nieces and nephews and extended family who knew her as “Aunt Grace”. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leah Yvonne Reeves; her siblings, Frances Johnson, Pauline Flack, Eliza Fullen, Una Mae Hicks, Walter Gaines Oxendine, Nancy Ryan, Juanita Walker, Elizabeth Lowe, Dorothy Dalton, James Oxendine, Jean Oxendine.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 9, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, 822 E. Market St. York, PA. The service will begin at 5 p.m.
