James Dale Litherland, 68, passed away April 2, 2026 at UPMC Harrisburg. Born November 3, 1957, in Woodstown, NJ, he was the son of the late Betty and Tom Farrington and James Ira and Catherine Litherland.

James found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life like spending time with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter. He loved the outdoors, whether it was a peaceful walk or time spent soaking in the fresh air and changing seasons. Being outside gave him a sense of calm and connection that he carried with him every day. Music was always close to his heart, especially the timeless energy of rock and roll.

James leaves many to cherish his memory siblings, Darlene Ader (Don), Diane Farrington, Marlene Michael (Bernie), Rick Farrington, Mike Litherland (Claudia), Deb Deguzman (Mike); other family members, Doris Hanna, Dennis Hanna, Grant Hitchner (Jolee), Skip Litherland (Barbara), Suzanne Litherland-Gonyea; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Doug Farrington.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Not One More or the Cancer Society of Pennsylvania.
