Janice Kathleen Bender, 66, passed away on April 17, 2026, in York, Pennsylvania. Born in Fort Hood, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of the late Gerda Bender and Byron Bender.

Janice was a graduate of Dover Area High School, Class of 1977. She dedicated many years of service to her community, working for Dover Township for 21 years and earlier with Pfaltzgraff for 13 years. Her strong work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

She will be remembered as a strong, kind, and loving woman who touched the lives of many. Janice had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys, finding happiness in photography, reading, and nature. She especially cherished time spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

Janice is survived by her loving son, Jamie Bender; her grandchildren, Cayden Bender, Cameron Bender, and Kyla Bender; her sister, Christiane Raines; and her nieces, Candice Raines and Brittney Kauffman.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on May 2, 2026, at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3825 Concordia Rd., Columbia, PA 17512. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.

Janice was greatly loved by her family and friends and will forever be missed.
