Jesse D. Englar, 94, entered into rest peacefully at his home on February 23, 2023. He was the loving husband of Florence (Langley) Englar.
Born on January 7, 1929, in York, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Edna M. Englar.
Jesse honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked and operated HH Gemmill Auto Parts.
In addition to his wife, Florence, Jesse leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Marcia; stepchildren, William, Ben, and Sherri; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by three stepchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 12 noon at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St, York. Pastor Rodney Glass will be officiating. A viewing will be held prior from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will take place immediately after at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
