Katelyn Nikole Richards, D.O.B- April 11th,1996, age 27 passed away Sunday evening July 9th, 2023, at 5:13pm, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia Pa due to lung rejection. Katelyn received a double lung transplant September 12th, 2020 and lived almost 3 years before rejection. She was born at York Hospital and is survived by her mother Nikole K Crouse. Maternal siblings Jordin Smith and Miranda Smith,(Deceased) Paternal siblings are Dalton Richards, Damien Seger, Aliona Segar, Hailey Richards and Edward Richards III. Maternal Grandparents, Nick Sciortino and his wife Jodi Sciortino and Kathy Inners and her husband Bobby Inners. Her Aunts and Uncles include, Kim and Dustin Kerr, Brian Myers, Mike and Billie Jo Sciortino, Jerry Sciortino, Lindsey and Dan Walters, and Tracy and Don Myers. Many cousins and one niece, Payslee Richards.
Katelyn graduated High School from Dallastown in 2015. She loved sunflowers, music, & singing, video games, cooking, making tik toks, fashion and shoes, spending time with family and her boyfriend Tyler Miller. Katelyn was always a happy and smiley person and always saw the positive side of things and the good in people. She loved God and attended Church at Family Of God Community Church in Red Lion. Katelyn also loved her puppy Remi. A male dachshund who kept her company and who will also miss her greatly. She loved going swimming at her Aunt Kim's house, watching movies, eating junk food, and just overall laughing and having fun. She touched everyone she met with her story which lives on within everyone.
Katelyn was able to be an Organ Donor and was able to save 3 lives with her liver, and both kidneys. She also lives on in those people. not only was she a miracle herself, she was a miracle for others.
A Memorial Service will be held July 22nd at 11am at Family Of God Community Church at 147 1st Ave, Red Lion Pa, 17356 by Pastor Howard Edmondson. Fellowship will follow the service.
Katelyn loved Sunflowers so the family is asking you to wear something with a sunflower on it to honor and remember her.
