Lloyd C. Schurtz, 97, passed away February 21, 2026. Born in York, PA on October 23, 1928, he was the son of Christopher and Amanda (Wilt) Schurtz.

Lloyd had a knack for fixing tractors and lawn mowers. He enjoyed gardening, especially loving his tomatoes. In his younger years he would bust up rocks and cut up cars with an ax to stay in shape. He loved to go fishing. Lloyd also enjoyed hanging out at the bar and occasionally took part in a good olde bar fight. However, he was the nicest man and would do anything for you as long as you stayed on his good side.

Lloyd leaves to cherish his memory siblings, Paul Schurtz and Mary Dunlap. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ben, Ken, Donald, Christopher, Paul, Noami, Emaline, Idella and Ruth.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ricky McCarl officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Paddletown Cemetery.
