Rosa Nell (Ford Dowling) Easton passed away peacefully at her home in Hillside Apartments on April 4, 2025. Born December 21, 1933 in Bamberg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Tyler) Ford. Rosa moved from Bamberg to York, PA the summer of 1959.

Rosa was preceded in death by her first husband, Thaddius Dowling, Jr. and was the devoted wife of the late Sellman P. Easton. She dedicated over 50 years of her life in service to the community through her work with Bethel Commandment Church of the Living God in York, PA.

Rosa leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Deborah Pinkney (husband Alphonso Pinkney), Thaddius Dowling III, Donald Dowling, Michael Dowling (wife, Demetrius Dowling) and Joyce Padgette (husband, Jesse Padgette). Rosa was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Elaine Kennedy (husband, Adam Kennedy).

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all those she touched through her life of faith and service.

A viewing will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Bethel Commandment Church of the Living God, 1000 S. Queen St York, Pa 17403. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Anthony Pinkney officiating. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
