Timothy Major Lee Newson Sr., affectionately known as Bobby, was born on March 27, 1964, and peacefully passed away on October 1, 2023. He was the beloved youngest son of the late Elder Major and Gladys Newson, and beloved son-in-law of Roxie Brought. Bobby graduated from William Penn Senior High School and went on to live a life filled with diverse passions and cherished relationships.
Bobby was a man of many interests. He was an enthusiastic fisherman who found solace by the water, and his love for cars ignited a lifelong fascination with automobiles. Bobby's adventurous spirit thrived through his passion for camping, where he could revel in the beauty of the great outdoors. Bobby and his brother Joe shared a deep affinity for collecting various items, building cherished memories together over the years.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Small and Ruby Newson, and his brothers, Adam Small, Curtis Randolph, Timothy Newson, and brother-in-law’s Warren Moody and Scott Brought. He leaves behind a legacy of love and lasting connections.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra, and his loving sons, Timothy Ferguson and his fiancée Alysha Pritz, Jordan Brown and his wife Christina, and Timothy Newson Jr. and his wife Lauren. His memory is further carried on by his adoring grandchildren: Ayden, Ne’Honesty, Jay’Elaine, Jaxsen, Elaira, Levi, and Lorenzo. Bobby's expansive family includes sisters Ruth Walker and her husband Ralph, Angel Moody, Bernadette Nunn and her husband Frank, Carmella Perry and her husband George, Elaine Jones, Valerie Jones, and sister-in-law’s Mae Randolph, Sherry Hicks and husband Thaddeus. Among his brothers are Joseph Newson and his wife Oramae, and Steve Jones and his wife Jennifer. Bobby leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and countless cherished friends. For 18 years, Bobby shared a special bond with his best friend, Richard Nguyen, a testament to the enduring nature of true friendship.
Bobby's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice and Community Cares for their unwavering support and compassionate care during the last days of his life. Your dedication and kindness provided comfort and solace to Bobby and his family during a challenging time. We would also like to thank Gladfelter Funeral Home for their professional services.
A service of remembrance to honor Bobby's life will take place on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, located at 825 East Princess Street, York, PA 17403. For those who wish to commemorate Bobby in a meaningful way, contributions can be made in his memory to CommunityAid Inc., 10 Skyport Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, where Bobby dedicated his time and effort until he fell ill or The Salvation Army 50 East King Street, York, PA 17401.
Bobby's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and his legacy of warmth, camaraderie, and passion will continue to inspire us all.
