Phillip S. Newcomer

Philip S. Newcomer, 64, went into his loving Father's arms on July 20, 2018.

Phil was born June 16, 1954 and was the son of the late Jesse and Shirley Newcomer of Mt. Wolf, PA. He is survived by his wife, Robin (Mohr) Newcomer; two sons, Zachary Newcomer and his wife, Chelsea of Dover and Justin Newcomer and his partner Kevin Carpenter of Rochester, NY; and a daughter, Zoey Newcomer and her fiancé Steve Winland of Hanover. He loved and cherished his two grandchildren, Fiona and Noah Newcomer. Phil is also survived by three sisters, Sue Hershey and husband Brad of Mt. Wolf, Ann Vreeland and husband Gary of York, and Jane Shade and husband Dan also of York as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Phil was a master mechanic in many fields. There didn't seem to be anything he didn't know how to fix, including cars. He traveled over the United States hiking, biking, canoeing, and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Upon his 1972 graduation from Northeastern High School he went to work for Coca Cola Bottling in York where he was a service technician for 28 years and had many friends at the businesses he visited. He then went to work for Reliance Crane and Hoist where he was treated like family; the Newcomers want to thank them for their support.

There will be a visitation with the family at 10:00 on Fri. July 27 at his church, Ambassadors Bible Chapel, 3000 York Haven Road, Manchester, PA 17345. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to his church, or paparksandforests.org/support c/o Ricketts Glen. The Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
