Vincent B. Holmes Jr.

     Vincent B. Holmes Jr., affectionately known as "Turtle", was born on January 16, 1970 to Vincent Holmes Sr. and the late Karen (Mitchell) Holmes.  He departed this earthly life on November 7, 2019.  Vincent had attended York City Schools.  

     Vincent leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Shaquay McMillion and La'Naisha Freeland and a granddaughter, Azya Freeland, all of York; his sister who he adored, Kimberley Holmes and her husband Shannon of Brogue; and his companion, Myra Chambers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen (Mitchell) Holmes; maternal grandparents Martha Mitchell and Bernard McCowin; paternal grandparents, Isaac Holmes, Sr. and Elizabeth (Jones) Holmes; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and friends.

     Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Services are private.  The family asks that any donations made be sent to Gladfelter Funeral Home, 822 E. Market Street, York, Pa 17403 to help defray costs.
