Sherry Lee (Dill) Smith, 67, passed away on Friday, July 9, at ManorCare South-York after a ten-year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Ben F. Smith of Felton, their son, Ted M. Smith of Sharpsville, PA, and three brothers.

     Sherry was born on July 11, 1953 in York Hospital to the late Doris (Arnold) and Charles “Junior” Dill, and grew up in Felton. She started working as a secretary at Autokraft Box Corporation in Red Lion (now NuPak Printing/ Specialty Industries) right after her Red Lion high school graduation in 1972, and was a dedicated employee for 47 years, continuing to work while receiving chemo and radiation treatments. Sherry loved her flower gardens, decorating for the holidays and going to craft shows, and was talented at making her own crafts.

     A public viewing will be held at Springwood Chapel, 2360 Springwood Road in York on Wednesday, July 14, at 10 AM. It will be followed by a celebration of Sherry’s life, officiated by her brother-in-law, Pastor Edward Ross, at 11 AM. Gladfelter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
