William M. Barton, Sr. was born on March 23, 1957. On April 23, 2021 he received his wings. William was the son of the late Amanda E. Gibbons and the late James H. Barton Sr. 

      William attended York City School District and graduated from William Penn Senior High School. 

       He was the father of one daughter, Saleema Michael and a son, William M. Barton, Jr. He also leaves to cherish his memory, three grandchildren, William M. Barton III, Teasia Roger and Jayzion Monroe; his step mother, Leola Barton; five sisters, Janet Trible and husband William, Jean and Nettie Bryant, Adelaide Barton of York, Pa; sisters-in-law, Judy Addison and Joni Barton of Harrisburg, Pa; step-brother, Wayne Wilson; a special brother, Calvin Posey; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Coleman and his brother, James H. Barton, Jr. 

       A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. 822 E. Market St, York Pa with Pastor Adrian Boxley officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
